Final REFLECTION..=)

Finally, now we come to the final day of the course..This are my final reflection through out this course of USING AND DEVELOPING RESOURCES FOR THE ESL CLASSROOM..

1.What I like about blogging.
I like that I can share my thoughts about have we done in classroom..I can express my feelings and see each others points of views..We can see that different people have different style of writings, arragements andcreativities..

2.What I do not like about blogging
Sometimes, I felt like I don't have time to write the blogs as we had so many tasks to do foreach and every weeks..

3. What I have they gained from blogging eg. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking,improved thought processes, technology skills etc.
I learn to share my experience with others through writings..I get to improved my reflective thinking cap and thought process as to deliver my messagethrough blogging..
My technology skills are developing that I learnt so many Computer Skills that I have never
come across before..Such as Audio Editing, Video Editing and many more..

4.How?
From the tasks given..Individually, Pair and group work that had been assigned for us for
every week..

5.What I like about the course I am glad that I am much better with my computer and internet skills compared to before learning this course

6.What I do not like about the course
There is too much tasks from time to time..Many printings been done though we already
printed them and handed in the tasks before..The class is too crowded for us..

7.What I have learnt from the course I learnt to be patient and accept the challenges given..Not to forget that all the computer and
internet skills that I never know them before..

8.What I do not expect but have learnt from the course
I do not expect too many technological sources learnt..But luckily we learnt all these things..

9.What I expect but have not learnt from the course.
I think there's nothing..

10.If they can change anything about the course, state what it is and explain.
The venue..If possible because it is not condusive for a big group like us..

Lastly, I would like to thank our lecturer, Mdm Foziah Mahmood and all my friends for helping me through out this course..I also want to take this opportunity for asking forgiveness from everyone if I have ever hurt someone's feelings through this blog..That's all fall into my carelessness..

EXAMINATION TIME..

21st of October 08 from 10 to 12am, all of us had taken our final examination for Using and Developing Resources for the ESL classroom..
Everyone of us seemed worried as this was our first experience for taking examination in University Malaya..Frankly, I was a bit nervous as I felt I was not well-prepared..
As we got our paper, all of us had tried our best to perform..Though the questions were bit tricky, I just answered all the questions required according to my sense and intuition..
Finally, all of us handed in the paper and it was the last day of PBEY3102..This coming Friday, we will come back to send our last assignment..Hooray..Hoping that all of us gain many new things from this course=)

Assignment 3 FINISHED=)but...=(

Finally, this week we handed in our Assignment 3 in group of 4..
All of us seems relieved, some smiling with tired faces and some were busy in finding groups for those who still didn't had one=)

After everyone sending their assignments, I thought we could go home..However, we need to learn new more things..huhu..
It was Software in form of cd-rom..Our lecturer had divided us to be in group of 7 to 8..
Each group was been given a cd and all we needed to do was to evaluate the Software provided in the cd..



Unfortunately, my group didn't receive any of those cd's..Therefore, our group need to go to other groups and share the cd..However, the group that I went to had a problem to open the cd to look at the software..
I felt so upset and dissapointed..This is because of we had to fill in the structured table for the Software Evaluation..And I had no ideas on about this evaluating software..
Now I am really in BAD situation..

OMG..SAVE ME..

LPz-Lesson Plan Designing..

Assignment 3 was one of the most challenging task for me..

Usually we just need to prepare a lesson plan for a topic.. Alas, this was really, really different.. I had spend almost my time to think about the outline for this assignment and make it through..huhu..So thus all my friends=)

I got a topic from Year 5, Where Do You Live? Interesting..That's really, really interesting(",)

However, the toughest part was to find resources from the internet.. My topic was about the different types of house.. Meaning bungalows, terrace house, flats, longhouse etc..

Ermmm..Days by days went by.. Still, I am working on it..

Finally we had finished our 2nd assignment which was for pair work.. Assessing and Manipulating Video.. 1.Earth song from Michael Jackson was done by my partner.. 2.And I had done the second video The Body Song..

Resources need to be continued, meaning more resources..huhu=)

Today, once again we had received new task and assignment to be done in our free time..

MS Publisher for pair and group task and Weekly LP in group of four..

These tasks are useful for us as teachers to be..Everything could be done because there are many format for publications provided here in MS Publisher..I had learnt many new things eg Name Card=)Brochure=)Advertisement=)Book Cover=) n MANY MORE~

Erm, about the lesson plans..These are more serious things we are talking.. Lpz are important for teachers..There are many considerations need to be make..
Pupils' level of proficiency, Suitability of materials, Practicality..
These are some of them.. I will try my best..GAMBATE to all dearest friends=)

Morning!!

huhu..It's a wake up call for everybody=)

Ahaks, for a moments all of us can a take a relieved breath..

Ninth week of learning and another three assignments to go.. We had been told about the performa and percentage of this course.. With this useful knowledge, we are now had a clearer view of what have we done in this two months and a week..Erm..

Learning must be continued.. With a clear vision.. The revealed truth..

Lets do it with our own way!!! hohoho=)

Today,we had handed in the E-book assignment..Such a relieved for a while..Suddenly, our representative of Using and Developing resources gave a message from our lecturer..We had to do more jobs..Jobs, works is the suitable words to describe University live..For me, I tried my really best to adopt this kind of new life.. Though, feeling of exhausted and sometimes fed up came.. I know I can go through all of this..

Hani, be tougher than ever! be patience! Take this as a challenge..

Keep the FREEDOM in my heart.. As long as I hold this 'FREEDOM' , my life will be just fine=)

Just after the break.. We had given our assignments to be done till the end of Week14..
First, the e-book..
Second Assignment 2 to make use video clip to be used in ESL classroom..
Third Assignment 3 to find any sources of teaching material and make lesson plan of it..
Hrmm.. Feeling like there's no air to breath..=(
However, I am glad that my partner is a person who is very supportive and calm..
Though I am in bad mood sometimes..cause of all works and tasks..We finally manage to go through all of this..Thanx my fwen..

Making Video..

Hooray!..We had a week of holiday..Its time to go back to my hometown..
However, we had assignment which to be done in pair..Hrmm..I just know that holiday does not mean we are totally free from work..As the olders says,learning is life-long learning =)
Believe or not, when I want to receive the video file from my partner ezy, I had to wait from 9pm and I got the file only at 5.30am..It did make me worried so much.. I really scared that I could not receive it..Because I had to make the tutorial from the video that we had discussed before going back home.. Alas, thanked to the fear I felt..Fear and tension sometimes may bring good effect on us..It makes me works to the maximum and luckily I had finished my work on time..haha..For me, I satisfied with all the effort that my partner and I had put on to the video..I hope you all of you enjoy with our video presentation..

More than an ordinary Sound..Audio Editing..

The class began with a lovely Korean music and then the edited version.. I felt a bit relieved after a tiring night of doing assignment.. Music is one of the most influential part in one's lives.. Therefore as future teacher, we might use music in the language classroom.. We had learned about Audio Editing this week..

First, I did felt anxious to edit a song.. However, after trying it out I find this is an interesting skill to be learned.. I choose a song from Celine Dion, Eyes On Me and made an edited version of mine.. I found that to edit the original song was not an easy job.. It needed creativity and awareness of manipulating the music.. Though music could be flexible, we should have in-depth understanding of the song in order to give a new melody to it.. This should be done without ignoring the fact that message of song should be delivered clearly to the audience..

Finally, I felt relieved that I had finished my audio editing task..

Third Assignment, Producing e-Book

Our third assignment had been set up to be in group and the task was to produce an e-book for Primary ESL classroom.. After a discussion, our group had choose the topic 'Saving our Environment' Unit 3 from Standard 5 text Book..

E-book can be very useful for students as it is more interactive and appeal to be read by pupils.. Therefore, reading activity can be motivated for pupils to acquire the language.. For now, our group had already had a brief idea on what will our present in our e-book..

Well, the e-book is still in process.. We will see the final production later.. Last but not least, I believe, reading should be introduced to children in the early age so that they will make reading as their habit in their lives..

New lesson of Photo Editing

This week, I had learned more new things which is Photo Editing..

That's interesting.. That's really interesting..

A picture is more meaningful and captivating to be used in the ESL classroom.. Through picture, children learns more as they are more attracted to Concrete Object which can be seen or touch.. Since picture usually portrays the Real Life situation therefore, this resource also should be Authentic.. I believe if we as teacher use the correct materials to assist our teaching and learning, pupils would get the benefits and they can become competent language users..

Photo Editing is part of it.. Photo Manager, Adobe Photoshop can be used to edit picture.. As a beginner, I do find difficulties to learn this skill.. However, with guidance from the tutorial given by Pn Foziah and help from my friends I manage to get through this.. Skills need to be practiced to master it.. So, i will surely try my best to sharpen my skills in using IT.. As the challenges in teaching line nowadays are more demanding for us future teachers, we have to develop ourselves and take up this challenges to be more creative and wise in selecting materials to be used in classroom..Just to share with all of you:This is my photo which I had edited=)

More learning in Second week..

This week, we had received our second assignment which was to show ways on how to download materials from the internet.. As this assignment was a group work, we had to do the group selection first.. This assignment teach me more new things, for example..print screen..Though it might be familiar for others, but for me this new thing does upgrade my skill..For my group we had choose the Glorious Food as our topic..We will try to search the best materials and show it through our assignment..I believe this assignment is a worthwhile..all this materials can be used when we were sent to the school practical..Finally, I hope we would make it as glorious as it could be..Thanks to Pn Foziah and friends who help me a lot for this assignment, now and then..

A new kick start of a new sem..

Each day we will learn new things.. And each day we realized that how shallow our knowledge in so many things.. Challenges come in different ways and somehow we still manage to confront with all the challenges..

For me, this course give me an opportunity to work out my skill to develop materials for teaching ESL classroom.. This is truly important for us to learn because materials is influential tool which compliment our teaching especially in Primary School.. As we all know, children of 7 to 12 years are very keen towards concrete object.. They need visual material to accommodate their learning language.. And they comprehend better through the use authentic materials which are they familiar with..So, I believe this subject is very helpful and useful for all of us..

For our respective lecturer, thanks for giving us this opportunity and for all the support you had made for us.. We will surely learn and progress ourselves from now onwards..
